Make an enquiryKia to Introduce Semi–Driverless Car by 2020
Kia is joining the Autonomous Revolution with the aim of launching its cars with self driving technology by 2020.
The Korean brand is aiming to introduce fully self–driving vehicles by 2030, which are currently under development.
The brand will begin by launching semi–autonomous systems in the Sportage, Optima and Sorento which will handle some of the driving by the year 2020.
Called the advanced driver assistance system, the suite of technology incorporates highway driving assist, traffic jam assist and smart parking. With these systems, Kia vehicles will be able to drive on the highway by themselves, park themselves and navigate stop–and–go traffic without driver input.
Looking ahead at fully driverless cars, Kia is investing its research time into vehicle–to–vehicle, vehicle–to–infrastructure and vehicle–to–everything communications.
