Traction are extremely excited and proud to support our very own Andrew Mccormick and his team as they prepare to fight for the final time with the best triathletes in the world for the IRONMAN European Championship in Frankfurt this weekend, raising money for the 50th Anniversary of the Marie Curie UK Belfast Hospice.
After a year of extremely intense training, testing the triathletes physical and mental endurance and with temperatures predicted to be 33°C this weekend (not the training conditions they are accustomed to in Ireland) they are under no illusion the challenge they have set themselves! However, they believe that the work and support provided by the Marie Curie team deserved to be recognised by pushing themselves well outside their individual comfort zone.

The Story
2015 is a massive year for the Olympians– with Andrew turning 40, Ann hitting the BIG 50 and Mark celebrating his 18th wedding anniversary. To celebrate each landmark they decided to embark upon a series of sporting challenges including Duathlons, the Belfast Marathon, Lough Cutra, Half Ironman and culminating in Frankfurt IRONMAN 2015, consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle and finishing with a 26.2 mile run.
These incredible IRON men and women have dedicated a year of their life and pushed their minds and bodies to the limit for an incredible cause believing that the work and support of the Marie Curie Team deserved to be recognised.
They are raising money for the 50th Anniversary of the Marie Curie Belfast Hospice with the aim of raising a massive £100,000 from key sporting events and a bi annual Gala evening www.thetimeball.org in the Europa Hotel on the November 14th 2015.
