On Thursday 8th of May– Traction attended a special event to celebrate the Giro D’Italia coming to Belfast.

The decadent evening began with a luxurious sit down dinner consisting of 3 courses supplied by The Yellow Door in Belfast, and  followed by a very informative no holds barred Question and Answer session with exclusive guests.

The guest speakers were  David Walsh an Irish sports journalist who is Chief Sports Writer for The Sunday Times. Walsh was the key journalist in uncovering the doping programme by Lance Armstrong and the US Postal Service Cycling Team. David’s story is to be featured heavily in a new film about Armstrong made by Richard Curtis and Working Title Films.

The second guest was Pete Kennaugh, a professional cyclist from the Isle of Man. Peter has been a member of Team Sky since its inception and marked himself out as an exciting climbing talent by finishing third in a mountainous 2011 edition of the Route du Sud. After committing fully to the road following his gold medal–winning performance on the track at London Olympic Games in 2012. Peter was an integral part of the team. Peter helped Team Sky secure a second consecutive Tour de France victory.

It was an enjoyable and memorable evening had by all, with a few of our guest stating that it was “the best question and answer session they have ever been to”.
